03FAQ

AVIF to PNG Questions

Are my AVIF files uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion runs in your browser using WebAssembly, so your AVIF files never leave your device. Nothing is stored, and the page keeps working even on a slow connection.

Will converting AVIF to PNG reduce quality?

No further quality is lost: PNG stores every pixel exactly. Any detail already discarded by AVIF compression can’t be restored, though, so the result looks the same as the original rather than better.

Is transparency kept?

Yes. PNG supports full transparency, so soft edges, shadows and see-through areas come through intact.

Will the PNG file be bigger or smaller?

Usually larger. PNG keeps every pixel, while AVIF discards detail to save space. For a smaller file, consider WebP or JPG instead.

Is the AVIF to PNG converter free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. Convert up to 50 files per batch, as many times as you like.
